Michi Jo vs Shinji Ishibashi

Boxing Daily Report from the Aidoo Promotions promoted show at Fukuyama Yagi, Fukuyama,  taking place on 01/03/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Michi Jo (3 - 0) who hails from Nagoya, Japan and Shinji Ishibashi(1 - 3 - 1) from Tokyo, Japan.  Both Jo and Ishibashi weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Keiichi Nakata, and the three ringside judges are Goro Tengan, Satoru Fukuda and Jun Hironaka.  

Round 1: 

Jo is looking to close the distance and is on target with a right uppercut.  
Jo advances into close range and lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Jo closes the distance.  Jo sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Ishibashi attempts to land a cross, but Jo blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Jo steps inside.  Jo pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Jo is looking to close the distance.  Jo pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Jo backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Ishibashi accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Jo.  
Ishibashi pivots to the right of his opponent.  Jo lands with a solid jab.  
Ishibashi pivots to the left of his opponent.  Ishibashi throws a right uppercut, but Jo ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Jo pushes his forearm into Ishibashi's face.  The referee warns Jo and breaks the clinch.  
Jo closes the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Jo ties up his opponent.  Jo is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Jo's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Jo gets on the inside.  Jo wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ishibashi dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ishibashi sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Jo lands a jab.  
Jo lands a hard jab.  
Ishibashi throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm right hook.  
Jo lands a jab followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Jo steps inside and drives a left hook into Ishibashi's ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ishibashi's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Ishibashi's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Jo advances into close range and is on target with a right hook.  Jo clinches his opponent.  Jo uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ishibashi behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Jo.  
Ishibashi steps away from his opponent.  Ishibashi stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Jo tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Jo is looking to close the distance.  Ishibashi connects with a right uppercut.  Jo ties up his opponent.  Jo leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Jo connects with a sharp left uppercut.  
Jo advances into close range and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.
