Vijay Kapoor vs Aki Masaki

Boxing Daily Report from the Sam Promotions promoted show at Kitakyushu Sakaguchi, Kitakyushu,  taking place on 23/03/2024:

Clearly Sam Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Vijay Kapoor (11(6) - 0) who hails from Nagpur, India and Aki Masaki(6 - 1 - 4) from Hamamatsu, Japan.  Both Kapoor and Masaki weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hisao Kamei, and the three ringside judges are Hisao Sone, Goro Koizumi and Satoshi Shinsato.  

Round 1: 

Kapoor is looking to close the distance.  Kapoor hits home with a left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Kapoor dabs at his face checking for damage.  Kapoor has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Kapoor lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Kapoor steps inside.  Kapoor sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Kapoor pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a solid right hook.  
Kapoor sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Masaki throws a left hook, but Kapoor clinches his opponent.  Kapoor pushes his forearm into Masaki's face.  The referee warns Kapoor and breaks the clinch.  
Kapoor walks his opponent into a corner.  Kapoor sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Kapoor is looking to close the distance.  Kapoor sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Masaki throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Kapoor clinches his opponent.  Kapoor is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Kapoor.

Masaki waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Kapoor lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Kapoor sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Kapoor sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Kapoor gets on the inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Kapoor pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Masaki's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Masaki's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Masaki's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Masaki's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Kapoor is looking to close the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Kapoor gets on the inside.  Frustration is reaching boiling point for Masaki now.   He steps in close and strikes his opponent with a blatant headbutt!  The ref takes no action over the foul, despite complaints from Kapoor.
