Saad Abdu vs Atif Huq

Boxing Daily Report from the UAE Boxing promoted show at Azam Malick Gym, Dubai,  taking place on 16/03/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Saad Abdu (10 - 0) who hails from Dubai, UAE and Atif Huq(2 - 13 - 3) from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  Abdu weighed in at 228 pounds And 12 ounces, while Huq weighed in at 230 pounds And 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Sajid Khalil, and the three ringside judges are Zafa Azzam, Farhan Akif and Asif Hamra.  

Round 1: 

Abdu lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Abdu closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.

Abdu lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Abdu clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Abdu pushes his forearm into Huq's face.  The referee warns Abdu and breaks the clinch.  
Abdu connects with a cross.  
Abdu lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Abdu lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Abdu lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Abdu lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Abdu lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Huq forces Abdu to retreat into the corner.  Abdu lands a left uppercut.  
Abdu lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a cross to the head.  
Huq manouvers Abdu onto the ropes.  Huq quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Abdu's ribcage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Abdu's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Huq's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Huq's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Huq throws a right uppercut, but Abdu holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Abdu pushes his forearm into Huq's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Abdu.  
Abdu closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Huq closes the distance.  Abdu hits home with a right uppercut.  
Abdu lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Abdu advances into close range and manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Abdu drives a left uppercut into Huq's liver.  
Abdu gets on the inside and lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Abdu lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  Abdu holds on to his opponent.  Abdu tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Huq behind the head. Abdu leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Abdu closes the distance.  Abdu is on target with a left uppercut.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref steps in and separates the two fighters to check for damage.  Its not looking good!  The ref has ruled that the fight cannot continue due to the accidental damage.  As less than 4 rounds have been completed its going to be a no-contest!
