Loredo Mosca vs Michael Abernethy

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Mariucci Arena, Minneapolis,  taking place on 29/03/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Americas Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on DAZN, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Loredo Mosca (14(1) - 0) who hails from Leon, Nicaragua and Michael Abernethy(14(7) - 0) from Jackson, USA.  Mosca weighed in at 146 pounds and 12 ounces, while Abernethy weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Harry Streblow, and the three ringside judges are Greg Pelle, Brad Dey and Alastair Cullen.  

Round 1: 

Mosca hits home with a cross.  
Mosca lands a cross to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Mosca closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Abernethy steps to the outside and hits home with a hard jab.  
Abernethy lands a jab.  
Mosca lands a hard jab.  
Abernethy is looking to keep his distance.  Mosca lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Mosca manages to force Abernethy onto the ropes.  Mosca pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mosca pivots from in front of his opponent.  Abernethy lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Abernethy is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Mosca lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Abernethy lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Mosca almost instantly gets his legs back.

Mosca tries to step out of his opponents range and drives a cross into his opponents body.  
Abernethy tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab to Mosca's body.  Abernethy attempts to land a jab, but Mosca sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Abernethy lands a straight 1 - 2, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Abernethy stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Abernethy lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND MOSCA IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Mosca advances into close range.  Abernethy lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND DROPS MOSCA TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Mosca now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Mosca lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.

Mosca gets on the inside.  Abernethy is on target with a firm right hook to Mosca's ribs.  
Mosca switches the action to the outside and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Abernethy lands with a ramrod jab.  
Mosca closes the distance.  Abernethy attempts to land a left uppercut, but Mosca slips the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Mosca throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Mosca advances into close range.  Abernethy connects with a left hook.  
Mosca quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Abernethy lands a MASSIVE cross.  MOSCA IS HURT!  
Abernethy thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Mosca away.  Abernethy lands two left uppercuts followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS MOSCA DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Mosca now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Mosca gets on the inside and digs in a right hook to Abernethy's ribcage.  
Abernethy tries to keep the action at long range.  Mosca sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mosca lands with a stinging jab.  Mosca tries to land a cross, but Abernethy sidesteps and counters with a FEROCIOUS cross.  MOSCA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Mosca advances into close range.  Abernethy thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Mosca away.  Abernethy is on target with a spiteful right uppercut.  DOWN GOES MOSCA!  He manages to get up at 6.  
Abernethy lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head, AND MOSCA IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Abernethy!
