Connor McMahon vs Kian Binner

Boxing Daily Report from the Elliot Britton promoted show at Elliot Gym, Bristol,  taking place on 26/02/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Connor McMahon (3 - 0) who hails from Bristol, UK and Kian Binner(2 - 0) from Brighton and Hove, UK.  McMahon weighed in at 175 pounds, while Binner weighed in at 174 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Richard Duffy, and the three ringside judges are Peter Arras, Spencer Dalton and Gus Cruguet.  

Round 1: 

McMahon feints a left hook, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
McMahon feints a cross, and then throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McMahon steps away from his opponent.  Binner tries to land a cross, but McMahon sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
McMahon hits home with a cross.  
Binner steps inside and throws a left hook, but McMahon clinches his opponent.  McMahon pushes his forearm into Binner's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
McMahon lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
McMahon steps away from his opponent and lands with a sharp jab.  
Binner tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
McMahon switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
McMahon is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Binner gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but McMahon clinches his opponent.  McMahon is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures McMahon about fouling.  
McMahon switches the action to the outside and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Binner's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Binner's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

McMahon switches the action to the outside.  McMahon feints a right, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
McMahon lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Binner throws a right uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Binner cuts off the ring, trapping McMahon on the ropes.  McMahon digs in a right uppercut to Binner's ribcage.  
Binner gets on the inside.  McMahon sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  McMahon lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  McMahon ties up his opponent.  McMahon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
McMahon switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Binner advances into close range.  McMahon pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.  
McMahon sidesteps to the left of his opponent and strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
McMahon steps away from his opponent.  McMahon drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Binner attempts to land a cross, but McMahon slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
McMahon steps to the outside and connects with an overhand left.  
McMahon steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
McMahon lands two jabs to the body, and one to the head.  
McMahon lands two jabs followed by an overhand right to his opponents head.  
McMahon lands a firm cross.  
Binner quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Binner tries to land a left hook, but McMahon blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
McMahon hits home with a left hook.

Binner steps inside.  McMahon throws a right hook, but is off-target.  McMahon clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks McMahon's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McMahon tries to keep the action at long range.  McMahon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands an overhand left, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
McMahon hits home with a cross.  
McMahon is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with a stinging jab.  
Binner steps inside.  McMahon lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
McMahon is looking to keep the action on the outside and finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
McMahon tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a cross.  
Binner is looking to close the distance.  McMahon lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Binner advances into close range and forces McMahon to back into a corner.  McMahon lands a left uppercut.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Binner has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused a slight cut .  
Binner pivots to the side of his opponent.  McMahon is on target with a solid right uppercut to Binner's ribs.  McMahon ties up his opponent.  Binner throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
McMahon is on target with a left hook to Binner's body.  
McMahon lands a stiff jab.

Binner steps inside.  McMahon sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Binner sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  McMahon lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a cross to the head.  
McMahon lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Binner gets on the inside.  Binner wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McMahon dabs at his face checking for damage.
