Umair Fahmy vs Amjad Kassas

Boxing Daily Report from the Shamenda Promotions promoted show at Shubra El-Kheima Meskin, Shubra El-Kheima,  taking place on 19/03/2024:

Clearly Shamenda Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Egypt-Shubra El-Kheima Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Umair Fahmy (6 - 1) who hails from Shubra El-Kheima, Egypt and Amjad Kassas(6 - 0) from Shubra El-Kheima, Egypt.  Fahmy weighed in at 200 pounds, while Kassas weighed in at 199 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Abdul Elbatanouny, and the three ringside judges are Amer Hussein, Amer Kahraba and Saad Tahan.  

Round 1: 

Kassas manouvers Fahmy into a corner.  Kassas sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Kassas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Kassas lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Fahmy is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with a cross.  
Kassas hits home with a firm cross.  
Fahmy feints a cross, and then tries to land a cross, but Kassas sidesteps and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Kassas closes the distance.  Fahmy throws a left hook, but Kassas clinches his opponent.  Kassas pushes his forearm into Fahmy's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Kassas.  
Kassas is on target with a sharp left hook to Fahmy's ribs.  
Kassas advances into close range and connects with a sharp left uppercut.  
Fahmy backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Kassas is whaling away with hooks, but Fahmy keeps his defence tight.  
Kassas throws a right hook, but is not on target.  Kassas clinches his opponent.  Kassas pushes his forearm into Fahmy's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Kassas.  
Kassas digs in a left hook to Fahmy's liver.  
Kassas hits home with a left uppercut.  
Fahmy steps away from his opponent and throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Fahmy throws a right hook, but Kassas clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Fahmy's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Fahmy's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Fahmy's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
