Wu-pen Leung vs Ye Ao

Boxing Daily Report from the FIGHT! promoted show at Yuan He Gym, Shanghai,  taking place on 29/02/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Wu-pen Leung (1 - 0) who hails from Beijing, China and Ye Ao(2 - 7 - 3) from Hong Kong, China.  Leung weighed in at 118 pounds, while Ao weighed in at 117 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Uang Bai, and the three ringside judges are Uang Chang, Genjo Hauw and Xing-fu Chern.  

Round 1: 

Leung steps inside.  Ao lands a left hook.

Leung drives a right hook into Ao's body.  Leung attempts to land a left uppercut, but Ao parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Leung's body.  
Leung sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ao lands a cross.  
Leung advances into close range and is on target with a left hook.  
Leung lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Leung lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ao dabs at his face checking for damage.  Ao has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused swelling  around the left eye.
