Mark Ovens vs Chris Adam

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Rattlesnake Gym, Arlington,  taking place on 05/03/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Mark Ovens (3 - 0) who hails from Fremont, USA and Chris Adam(0 - 5 - 2) from Atlanta, USA.  Both Ovens and Adam weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Mings, and the three ringside judges are Chris Suit, Noah Fergusson and Mike Ruane.  

Round 1: 

Ovens gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but is off-target.  Ovens holds on to his opponent.  Ovens uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Adam's kidney. The ref breaks Ovens's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ovens is on target with a right hook.  
Adam pivots to the right of his opponent.  Adam throws a right hook, but Ovens ties up his opponent.  Ovens is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ovens manouvers Adam onto the ropes.  Ovens throws a left uppercut, but is off-target.  Ovens holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Ovens pushes his forearm into Adam's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ovens connects with a right hook.  
Ovens lands a right hook.  
Ovens lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ovens is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.

Ovens wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Adam dabs at his face checking for damage.  Adam has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused nasty swelling  around the left eye.

Adam pivots to the left of his opponent.  Ovens lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Ovens connects with a right hook.  Ovens ties up his opponent.  Adam uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ovens behind the head.

Ovens walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Ovens sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Adam throws a right hook, but Ovens ties up his opponent.  Ovens pushes his forearm into Adam's face.  The referee warns Ovens and breaks the clinch.
