Leo Gray vs Daiki Ishibashi

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Aichi promoted show at Nagoya Tabata, Nagoya,  taking place on 23/03/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Leo Gray (11(9) - 0) who hails from Brampton, Canada and Daiki Ishibashi(2 - 4 - 1) from Tokyo, Japan.  Both Gray and Ishibashi weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Raiden Oyama, and the three ringside judges are Aoi Imada, Yasushi Jin and Mitsuru Yoshikawa.  

Round 1: 

Gray lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Gray lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ishibashi dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Ishibashi.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Gray sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Gray tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab.  
Gray drives a left hook into Ishibashi's body.  
Gray steps to the outside.  Gray sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Gray is looking to close the distance.  Gray sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Gray pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a cross to Ishibashi's body.  
Gray lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Gray pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Gray lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a left uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  
Ishibashi tries to land a right hook, but Gray sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ishibashi steps inside.  Gray throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Gray holds on to his opponent.  Gray is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Gray lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Gray steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Ishibashi is whaling away with hooks, but Gray keeps his defence tight.  
Ishibashi closes the distance.  Gray throws a left hook, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Gray holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Gray pushes his forearm into Ishibashi's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gray to stop fouling.  
Gray tries to step out of his opponents range.  Ishibashi sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Gray is on target with a cross.  
Gray lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Gray steps inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Gray is looking to keep his distance and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ishibashi's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Ishibashi's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Ishibashi's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Gray throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Gray uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ishibashi behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ishibashi sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ishibashi throws a right hook, but Gray clinches his opponent.  Gray uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Ishibashi's kidney. 
Gray lands consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Ishibashi pivots from in front of his opponent.  Gray lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Gray tries to step out of his opponents range and connects with a cross.  
Gray lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Gray advances into close range.  Ishibashi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Gray is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Gray lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.

Gray steps inside.  Ishibashi throws a left hook, but Gray ties up his opponent.  Gray tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Ishibashi behind the head. Gray uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Ishibashi's kidney. Gray leans on his opponent using all his weight. Gray uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ishibashi behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.

Ishibashi pivots to the side of his opponent.  Ishibashi attempts to land a left hook, but Gray blocks the shot and counters with a powerful cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE ISHIBASHI WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Gray knows Ishibashi is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Gray lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  He then lands a cross, right hook and a cross to his opponents head, AND DROPS ISHIBASHI TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Ishibashi now seems to have his senses back.  
Gray hits home with a left hook.  
Ishibashi steps inside.  Gray lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Gray is on target with a left hook to Ishibashi's ribs.  
Gray steps inside and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head, AND ISHIBASHI IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  Ishibashi almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Gray lands a DESTRUCTIVE right hook.  DOWN GOES ISHIBASHI!  THE REF IMMEDIATELY WAVES OFF THE FIGHT...HE'S SEEN ENOUGH!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Gray!
