Phil McFarlane vs Cock Van Breeda

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Frank Gym, Manchester,  taking place on 07/03/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Phil McFarlane (1 - 0) who hails from London, UK and Cock Van Breeda(1 - 0 - 1) from Breda, Netherlands.  McFarlane weighed in at 121 pounds and 12 ounces, while Van Breeda weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Adam Ouimet, and the three ringside judges are Angus Heriot, Owen Saunders and Brian Hall.  

Round 1: 

McFarlane closes the distance and hits home with a left hook.  
McFarlane finds the target with a sharp jab.  
McFarlane gets on the inside.  McFarlane hits home with a left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Van Breeda dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Van Breeda quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McFarlane lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Van Breeda pivots to the right of his opponent.  McFarlane connects with a cross.  
McFarlane closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
McFarlane drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
McFarlane closes the distance.  Van Breeda throws a left hook, but McFarlane ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, McFarlane pushes his forearm into Van Breeda's face.  The ref breaks McFarlane's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McFarlane is on target with a right hook.  
Van Breeda quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McFarlane throws a right uppercut, but misses the target.  McFarlane clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, McFarlane pushes his forearm into Van Breeda's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns McFarlane to stop fouling.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McFarlane's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Van Breeda's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Van Breeda's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

McFarlane lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
McFarlane closes the distance.  Van Breeda pivots to the side of his opponent.  Van Breeda throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McFarlane quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a sharp right uppercut.  
McFarlane steps inside and is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
McFarlane drives a left hook into Van Breeda's body.  
McFarlane closes the distance.  McFarlane pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
McFarlane finds the target with a sharp jab.  
McFarlane closes the distance and is on target with a left hook.  
McFarlane hits home with a left hook.  
McFarlane attempts to land a right hook, but Van Breeda blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.
