Christof Van der Zolre vs Alvino Lainez

Boxing Daily Report from the Kurusu Promotions promoted show at George Carnall Leisure, Manchester,  taking place on 25/03/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Christof Van der Zolre (4 - 2 - 1) who hails from The Hague, Netherlands and Alvino Lainez(0 - 0) from Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain.  Both Van der Zolre and Lainez weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Isaac MacIver, and the three ringside judges are Jonathan Dunn, Paul Elliot and Adam Ouimet.  

Round 1: 

Lainez gets on the inside.  Lainez attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Van der Zolre's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Lainez closes the distance.  Lainez wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Van der Zolre dabs at his face checking for damage.

Lainez steps inside.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Lainez has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Lainez is looking to close the distance.  Van der Zolre throws a left hook, but is off-target.  Van der Zolre holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Van der Zolre pushes his forearm into Lainez's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Van der Zolre to stop fouling.
