Dai Kimmey vs Mark Carlyle

Boxing Daily Report from the T5 Promotions promoted show at T5 Gym, North Shore,  taking place on 10/03/2024:

Clearly T5 Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Dai Kimmey (0 - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Mark Carlyle(1 - 12 - 2) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Both Kimmey and Carlyle weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kyle Stine, and the three ringside judges are Henry Ngahoro, Max Weatherspoon and Kahorere Hakaipari.  

Round 1: 

Carlyle gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but Kimmey ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Kimmey pushes his forearm into Carlyle's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Kimmey to stop fouling.  
Kimmey advances into close range and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Kimmey advances into close range.  Kimmey quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Carlyle tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Kimmey is looking to close the distance and drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Kimmey lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kimmey hits home with a left hook.  
Kimmey lands a right uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Kimmey connects with a right hook.  
Kimmey lands a left uppercut.  Kimmey ties up his opponent.  Kimmey uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Carlyle behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Carlyle throws a left hook, but Kimmey holds on to his opponent.  Kimmey leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Kimmey feints a jab, and then hits home with a left hook.  
Kimmey advances into close range and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Kimmey is on target with a left hook to Carlyle's liver.  
Kimmey pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Carlyle is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Kimmey lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Kimmey throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Carlyle's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Carlyle's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Carlyle forces Kimmey to retreat into the corner.  Kimmey lands a right hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Carlyle dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Kimmey lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kimmey connects with a left hook.  
Carlyle is on target with a right hook.  
Kimmey lands a right hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Kimmey manouvers Carlyle onto the ropes.  Kimmey sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kimmey connects with a left uppercut.  Kimmey attempts to land a left hook, but Carlyle blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Kimmey gets on the inside.  Kimmey sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.
