Lugono Chitepo vs Lorcan Malloye

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at National Stadium, Dublin,  taking place on 12/04/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Lugono Chitepo (7(3) - 0) who hails from Lusaka, Zambia and Lorcan Malloye(7 - 5) from Dublin, Ireland.  Both Chitepo and Malloye weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Shane MacNevin, and the three ringside judges are Ross Gauld, Lee Beirne and Carl MacRae.  

Round 1: 

Malloye lands a cross.  
Malloye steps inside.  Chitepo lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Malloye hits home with a cross.  
Chitepo advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Chitepo digs in a left hook to Malloye's body.  
Chitepo lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  Chitepo holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Chitepo pushes his forearm into Malloye's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Chitepo lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Chitepo sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Malloye throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Chitepo walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Chitepo lands a solid right hook.  
Chitepo feints a left, and then lands a sharp jab.  
Chitepo closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Chitepo connects with a solid right hook.  Chitepo holds on to his opponent.  Chitepo uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Malloye behind the head. As they grapple, Malloye pushes his forearm into Chitepo's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Malloye.  
Chitepo lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Chitepo lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Chitepo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Malloye throws a right uppercut, but Chitepo ties up his opponent.  Chitepo leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Chitepo's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Chitepo drives a stinging left hook into Malloye's body.  
Malloye sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Chitepo connects with a sharp cross.  
Malloye throws a right uppercut, but Chitepo clinches his opponent.  Chitepo leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Chitepo lands a straight 1 - 2.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Malloye's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Malloye's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Chitepo manouvers Malloye onto the ropes.  Chitepo lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.

Chitepo advances into close range and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.
