Ali Akbar vs Kieran Frimpong

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ghana-Ashanti promoted show at Kumasi Adumensa, Kumasi,  taking place on 19/04/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ghana Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on bTV Action, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ali Akbar (14 - 2 - 2) who hails from Kumasi, Ghana and Kieran Frimpong(12 - 1) from Kumasi, Ghana.  Both Akbar and Frimpong weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noah Asante, and the three ringside judges are Rob Adjei, Vincent Lamptey and Bob Antwi.  

Round 1: 

Akbar attempts to land an overhand left, but Frimpong slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Frimpong is looking to close the distance.  Frimpong lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Akbar.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
