Michi Uyemura vs Aki Matsumoto

Boxing Daily Report from the Nundwe Promotions promoted show at Nao Imai Gym, Hakodate,  taking place on 22/04/2024:

Clearly Nundwe Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Hokkaido Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Michi Uyemura (11 - 2) who hails from Sapporo, Japan and Aki Matsumoto(13 - 1 - 1) from Sapporo, Japan.  Uyemura weighed in at 140 pounds, while Matsumoto weighed in at 139 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Raiden Takamoto, and the three ringside judges are Satoru Yasui, Kaede Takenaka and Kaede Takenaka.  

Round 1: 

Uyemura tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a cross.

The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Matsumoto dabs at his face checking for damage.  Matsumoto has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused swelling  around the right eye.
