Montraie Muntari vs Thulani Bhengu

Boxing Daily Report from the AI South Africa-Gauteng promoted show at Ian Van Ryneveld Gym, Soweto,  taking place on 30/04/2024:

Clearly AI South Africa-Gauteng have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Africa-Gauteng Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Montraie Muntari (9 - 5 - 3) who hails from Soweto, South Africa and Thulani Bhengu(7 - 3 - 5) from Johannesburg, South Africa.  Muntari weighed in at 130 pounds, while Bhengu weighed in at 129 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Jackson Mnyamane, and the three ringside judges are Barry Khuzwayo, Max De Jager and Fraser Mulder.  

Round 1: 

Muntari forces Bhengu to back into the blue corner.  Muntari is on target with a cross.  
Bhengu sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a left uppercut.  
Muntari advances into close range.  Bhengu throws a left hook, but Muntari clinches his opponent.  Muntari leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Muntari walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Bhengu lands a left hook.  
Muntari quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Muntari tries to step out of his opponents range.  Muntari feints a jab, and then lands an overhand left followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.

Muntari steps inside.  Bhengu connects with a left hook.  Muntari holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Muntari pushes his forearm into Bhengu's face.  The referee warns Muntari and breaks the clinch.  
Muntari is looking to close the distance and drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Muntari gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Bhengu tries to step out of his opponents range and finds the target with a jab.
