Chris Nivens vs Alastair Bowens

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Rattlesnake Gym, Arlington,  taking place on 13/04/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Chris Nivens (1 - 0) who hails from Cleveland, USA and Alastair Bowens(1 - 2 - 2) from Baltimore, USA.  Both Nivens and Bowens weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Arthur Kinna, and the three ringside judges are Elliot Morgans, Johnny Cornejo and Noah Fergusson.  

Round 1: 

Nivens steps inside and hits home with a solid right hook.  
Nivens lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Nivens closes the distance and forces Bowens to retreat into a corner.  Nivens is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Nivens lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Nivens lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Bowens quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Nivens lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Nivens feints a right hook, and then is on target with a sharp jab.  
Nivens lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Nivens holds on to his opponent.  Nivens is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Nivens is looking to close the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Nivens lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Nivens lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  Nivens clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Nivens pushes his forearm into Bowens's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Nivens.  
Nivens drives a stiff jab into his opponents face.  
Nivens advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by two left hook's to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Bowens's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Bowens's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Bowens pivots to the right of his opponent andAs the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Bowens dabs at his face checking for damage.

Nivens is looking to close the distance and manouvers Bowens into the corner.  Nivens pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.

Bowens pivots from in front of his opponent.  Nivens digs in a solid left hook to Bowens's ribs.
