Ian Di Fonzo vs Rex Taitt

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Rattlesnake Gym, Arlington,  taking place on 13/04/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Ian Di Fonzo (5 - 0 - 1) who hails from Providence, USA and Rex Taitt(1 - 5 - 2) from Portland, USA.  Both Di Fonzo and Taitt weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Johnny Cornejo, and the three ringside judges are Arthur Kinna, Elliot Morgans and Noah Fergusson.  

Round 1: 

Di Fonzo hits home with a cross.  
Di Fonzo lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Di Fonzo switches the action to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Di Fonzo walks his opponent into the blue corner.  Di Fonzo pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Di Fonzo pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Taitt's body.  
Taitt closes the distance.  Di Fonzo is on target with a left hook to Taitt's body.  
Di Fonzo advances into close range and lands a solid left hook.  
Di Fonzo pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut to Taitt's body.  
Taitt is looking to close the distance.  Di Fonzo leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Taitt steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Di Fonzo lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.  As Di Fonzo tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Taitt dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Di Fonzo lands a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Taitt's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Taitt's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Taitt's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Di Fonzo steps inside.  Taitt sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Di Fonzo connects with a stinging right hook.  
Taitt throws a right uppercut, but Di Fonzo holds on to his opponent.  Di Fonzo is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Di Fonzo's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Di Fonzo is on target with a sharp left hook.  
Taitt quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Di Fonzo lands a jab to Taitt's body.  
Di Fonzo lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.

Taitt throws a left uppercut, but Di Fonzo ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Taitt pushes his forearm into Di Fonzo's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Taitt advances into close range.  Di Fonzo hits home with a left hook.  
Taitt stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Di Fonzo lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Di Fonzo lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Di Fonzo hits home with a stinging cross.  
Di Fonzo is on target with a left hook to Taitt's body.  
Taitt attempts to land a cross, but Di Fonzo dodges the shot and counters with a solid right hook.

It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Di Fonzo.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Di Fonzo is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Taitt feints a right hook, and then tries to land a cross, but Di Fonzo slips the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.
