Roeholt Pistorius vs Lucas Verwoerd

Boxing Daily Report from the AI South Africa-Gauteng promoted show at Ian Van Ryneveld Gym, Soweto,  taking place on 01/05/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Africa Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on AIT Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Roeholt Pistorius (11 - 3 - 2) who hails from Tembisa, South Africa and Lucas Verwoerd(11 - 3 - 1) from Khayelitsha, South Africa.  Pistorius weighed in at 111 pounds and 13 ounces, while Verwoerd weighed in at 111 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Voshon Adams, and the three ringside judges are Phumelele Mkhize, Xhosas Kwadwo and Max De Jager.

Verwoerd quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a cross.

Pistorius cuts off the ring, trapping Verwoerd on the ropes.  Verwoerd drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Verwoerd throws a left hook, but Pistorius clinches his opponent.  Pistorius leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Pistorius's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Pistorius closes the distance.  As Verwoerd tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Pistorius dabs at his face checking for damage.
