Ethan Friel vs Greg Fannon

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Frank Gym, Manchester,  taking place on 24/04/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Ethan Friel (3 - 0) who hails from Bradford, UK and Greg Fannon(0 - 0) from Watford, UK.  Friel weighed in at 214 pounds and 6 ounces, while Fannon weighed in at 238 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark Collins, and the three ringside judges are Rob Law, Euan Culbertson and Wayne Atcheson.  

Round 1: 

Friel steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Fannon connects with a left uppercut.  
Friel connects with a firm left hook.  
Friel pivots to the side of his opponent.  Friel wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Fannon has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor damage to the nose.  
Friel sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a firm right hook into Fannon's body.  
Friel steps inside and digs in a solid right uppercut to Fannon's body.  Friel clinches his opponent.  Friel leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Friel advances into close range.  Friel quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a stinging right hook into his opponents body.  
Friel lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Friel lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  Friel clinches his opponent.  Friel is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Friel drives a sharp left uppercut into Fannon's body.  
Friel advances into close range and digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Fannon is on target with a right hook.

Friel walks his opponent into the corner.  Friel drives a stinging left hook into his opponents liver.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Fannon dabs at his face checking for damage.

Fannon throws a right hook, but Friel ties up his opponent.  Friel pushes his forearm into Fannon's face.  The referee warns Friel and breaks the clinch.  
Friel lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  Friel ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Friel pushes his forearm into Fannon's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Friel to stop fouling.  
Fannon throws a right uppercut, but Friel ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Fannon pushes his forearm into Friel's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Fannon to stop fouling.

Friel digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  Friel clinches his opponent.  Friel is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Friel throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Friel manouvers Fannon into the red corner.  Fannon throws a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Friel digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Friel is on target with a firm left uppercut to Fannon's body.  
Friel closes the distance and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Friel lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Friel digs in a left hook to Fannon's liver.  
Friel lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Friel lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Friel sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Friel lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND FANNON IS DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Friel!
