Mick Malcom vs John Smyth

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Rattlesnake Gym, Arlington,  taking place on 03/05/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Mick Malcom (6 - 0) who hails from Sacremento, USA and John Smyth(0 - 1 - 1) from Phoenix, USA.  Both Malcom and Smyth weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Arthur Kinna, and the three ringside judges are Faisal Rasul, Brett Sproule and Robert Corfield.  

Round 1: 

Malcom is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Malcom pivots to the right of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Malcom is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Malcom closes the distance and hits home with a left hook.  
Malcom lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Malcom quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Malcom is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Malcom pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Malcom pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a sharp jab.  
Malcom is looking to close the distance.  Malcom lands a right hook.  Malcom wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Smyth dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Malcom is on target with a left hook to Smyth's liver.  
Malcom walks Smyth into the corner.  Malcom sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Malcom drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  Malcom clinches his opponent.  Malcom is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Malcom connects with a right hook.  
Smyth tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Malcom pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Malcom pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Malcom drives a right hook into Smyth's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Smyth's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Smyth's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Smyth's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Smyth hits home with a cross.  
Malcom gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by two right uppercut's to the body.  
Malcom walks his opponent into the corner.  Malcom lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Malcom lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Malcom lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Malcom pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.  
Malcom lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Malcom walks Smyth down, trapping him in the corner.  Malcom lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Malcom ties up his opponent.  Malcom pushes his forearm into Smyth's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Malcom.  
Malcom lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Malcom lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.

Smyth tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a cross.  
Malcom steps inside and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Malcom hits home with a right hook.  
Smyth attempts to land a cross, but Malcom blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Malcom walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Malcom lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Malcom pivots to the left of his opponent.  Malcom throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the punch.  Malcom holds on to his opponent.  Malcom uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Smyth's kidney. 
Malcom sidesteps to the left of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Malcom lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Malcom pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Malcom lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Malcom quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a sharp jab.  
Malcom is on target with a right uppercut to Smyth's ribcage.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Malcom.  That has caused a slight cut .
