Ian Fowlie vs Noah Barron

Boxing Daily Report from the Baddog promoted show at Royal York Hotel, Toronto,  taking place on 21/05/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Ian Fowlie (4 - 0) who hails from Mississauga, Canada and Noah Barron(6 - 2 - 3) from Calgary, Canada.  Fowlie weighed in at 168 pounds, while Barron weighed in at 167 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark Nixon, and the three ringside judges are Scott Hughes, Mel Harvey and Leo Gaddie.  

Round 1: 

Fowlie throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Fowlie steps to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Barron advances into close range.  Fowlie lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Fowlie advances into close range and is on target with a right hook.  
Fowlie gets on the inside.  Fowlie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Barron throws a right hook, but Fowlie holds on to his opponent.  Fowlie pushes his forearm into Barron's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Fowlie closes the distance and digs in a stinging right hook to Barron's body.  
Barron steps inside and manouvers Fowlie onto the ropes.  Barron quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Fowlie lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fowlie switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Fowlie steps inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fowlie is looking to close the distance and is on target with a sharp right hook to Barron's ribs.  
Fowlie lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Fowlie ties up his opponent.  Fowlie leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Fowlie's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Fowlie sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Fowlie lands a stinging jab.  
Fowlie pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Barron is looking to close the distance.  Fowlie lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Fowlie ties up his opponent.  Fowlie leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Fowlie lands a left hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Fowlie closes the distance and lands a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Barron's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Barron quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Barron tries to land a cross, but Fowlie sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Fowlie gets on the inside and is on target with a right uppercut.  
Fowlie tries to keep the action at long range and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Fowlie is on target with a jab.  
Fowlie lands a stiff jab.  
Fowlie is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Fowlie sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Fowlie gets on the inside.  Fowlie pivots to the side of his opponent.  Barron throws a left hook, but Fowlie ties up his opponent.  Fowlie pushes his forearm into Barron's face.  The referee warns Fowlie and breaks the clinch.

Fowlie is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Fowlie gets on the inside and drives a left hook into Barron's body.  
Fowlie lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Barron closes the distance.  Fowlie lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Fowlie ties up his opponent.  Fowlie tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Barron behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Fowlie to stop fouling.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Barron dabs at his face checking for damage.
