Banji Barus vs Nicholas Mbugua

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi,  taking place on 01/06/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Banji Barus (10 - 1) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Nicholas Mbugua(7 - 5 - 2) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Both Barus and Mbugua weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joe Mwirichia, and the three ringside judges are Luister Mutahi, Kashif Haque and Rehan Abed.  

Round 1: 

Barus steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Barus gets on the inside and digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.
