Stephen McTaggart vs Joshua Alison

Boxing Daily Report from the Ten Count Promotions promoted show at Ten Gym, Hull,  taking place on 11/05/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Stephen McTaggart (7 - 0) who hails from Wolverhampton, UK and Joshua Alison(4 - 3 - 1) from Leicester, UK.  Both McTaggart and Alison weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Arran Bogle, and the three ringside judges are Arran Bogle, Fred Ruddock and James Brys.  

Round 1: 

McTaggart lands a solid cross.  
McTaggart lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.  
McTaggart lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  McTaggart clinches his opponent.  McTaggart pushes his forearm into Alison's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures McTaggart about fouling.  
McTaggart manouvers Alison into a corner.  McTaggart lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
McTaggart quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McTaggart drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  McTaggart ties up his opponent.  McTaggart tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Alison behind the head. 
McTaggart quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McTaggart is on target with a left uppercut.  McTaggart throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McTaggart closes the distance and drives a left hook into Alison's body.  
McTaggart steps away from his opponent and drives a cross into Alison's body.  
McTaggart is looking to close the distance.  McTaggart pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
McTaggart steps away from his opponent.  Alison tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
McTaggart gets on the inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  McTaggart ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
McTaggart lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
McTaggart switches the action to the outside.  McTaggart sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  McTaggart tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McTaggart hits home with a cross.  
McTaggart is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Alison throws a right uppercut, but McTaggart ties up his opponent.  McTaggart leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
McTaggart steps inside.  McTaggart quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
McTaggart feints a jab, and then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Alison's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Alison's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Alison's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

McTaggart closes the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
McTaggart sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.  
McTaggart steps to the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
McTaggart advances into close range.  McTaggart tries to land a left hook, but Alison slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
McTaggart is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
McTaggart advances into close range and drives a left hook into Alison's body.

Alison quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McTaggart lands a stinging jab.  
McTaggart gets on the inside.  McTaggart lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref steps in and separates the two fighters to check for damage.  Its not looking good!  The ref has ruled that the fight cannot continue due to the accidental damage.  As less than 4 rounds have been completed its going to be a no-contest!
