Ouida Haddad vs Anicetus Faye

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Senegal-Dakar promoted show at Gage Herard Gym, Dakar,  taking place on 31/05/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ouida Haddad (9(2) - 0) who hails from Dakar, Senegal and Anicetus Faye(4 - 12(1) - 1) from Dakar, Senegal.  Both Haddad and Faye weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Laurent Courtellemont, and the three ringside judges are Thibaud Ly, Royal Ankah and Newell Nodine.  

Round 1: 

Haddad advances into close range and connects with a left uppercut.

Faye steps away from his opponent.  Haddad lands a sharp jab.  
Haddad walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Haddad feints a left, and then lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Haddad lands a jab to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Haddad connects with a right hook.  
Haddad hits home with a right uppercut.  Haddad tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Faye's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Faye's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Haddad digs in a solid right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  Haddad clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Haddad pushes his forearm into Faye's face.  The referee warns Haddad and breaks the clinch.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Faye dabs at his face checking for damage.  Faye recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Haddad lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Faye hits home with a cross.  
Faye is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Haddad lands a HUGE cross.  FAYE IS HURT!  
Haddad knows Faye is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Haddad lands a mean right hook.  FAYE IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  Faye now seems to have got his legs back.
