Brett Malone vs Dai Lazaroff

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Pavilion Convention Centre, Gold Coast,  taking place on 08/06/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-Queensland Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Brett Malone (5 - 7 - 1) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Dai Lazaroff(6 - 5 - 2) from Sunshine Coast, Australia.  Both Malone and Lazaroff weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Leon Kellar, and the three ringside judges are Tobias Bruce, Corey Pait and Billy Pryce.  

Round 1: 

Lazaroff is looking to close the distance.  Malone pivots to the right of his opponent.  Lazaroff lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Lazaroff steps inside.  Malone quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.  
Lazaroff forces Malone to back into a corner.  Malone is on target with a left hook.  
Malone hits home with a right hook.  
Lazaroff steps inside.  Malone throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Lazaroff's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Malone is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a cross.  
Malone switches the action to the outside and tries to land a jab, but Lazaroff blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Lazaroff throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Malone is looking to keep his distance and strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
Malone connects with a right hook.  
Malone switches the action to the outside and hits home with an overhand right.
