Chris Mungle vs Gareth Skillen

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Arizona promoted show at Mesa Littlejohn, Mesa,  taking place on 02/06/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-SouthWest Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chris Mungle (7 - 8 - 4) who hails from Houston, USA and Gareth Skillen(5 - 6 - 1) from Phoenix, USA.  Mungle weighed in at 227 pounds And 15 ounces, while Skillen weighed in at 245 pounds And 7 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ian Tosh, and the three ringside judges are Nicholas Saunders, Richie Rezin and Enzo Febus.  

Round 1: 

Skillen walks his opponent into a corner.  Skillen sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mungle tries to land a left hook, but Skillen slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mungle is looking to keep his distance.  Mungle feints a cross, and then finds the target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mungle's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Skillen's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Skillen's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Skillen steps inside and walks Mungle down, trapping him on the ropes.  Skillen is on target with a left uppercut.  
Mungle pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Skillen lands a right uppercut.  
Mungle drives a left hook into Skillen's body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Mungle.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Skillen forces Mungle to retreat into the corner.  Skillen lands a left uppercut.  
Skillen sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Skillen lands a right uppercut.  Skillen throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mungle sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Skillen lands a jab to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Skillen steps inside.  Skillen sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.  
Mungle attempts to land a right hook, but Skillen blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.
