Shevon Phaahla vs Ndumisa Dlala

Boxing Daily Report from the Quick Tan Promotions promoted show at Gold Reef Entertainment Centre, Johannesburg,  taking place on 18/05/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Shevon Phaahla (5 - 0) who hails from Tembisa, South Africa and Ndumisa Dlala(2 - 2 - 2) from Soshanguve, South Africa.  Both Phaahla and Dlala weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Tlou Nqakula, and the three ringside judges are Rob Bakwamba, Tlou Nqakula and Lemme Van der Linde.  

Round 1: 

Phaahla steps inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Phaahla pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Dlala tries to keep the action at long range.  Phaahla lands with a stiff jab.  
Phaahla lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Dlala is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Phaahla hits the target with a solid jab.  
Phaahla steps inside.  Phaahla sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Dlala's liver.  
Dlala sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Phaahla digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Phaahla hits home with a left hook.  Phaahla holds on to his opponent.  Phaahla is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
