Diego Nieves vs Ignado Ciervo

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Jalisco promoted show at Rodrigo Olan Gym, Zapopan,  taking place on 03/06/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Jalisco Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Diego Nieves (10 - 3 - 3) who hails from Guadalajara, Mexico and Ignado Ciervo(10 - 6 - 3) from Tlaquepaque, Mexico.  Both Nieves and Ciervo weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Cuba Tiscareno, and the three ringside judges are Luis Meraz, Zacarias Olguin and Rodrigo Machuca.  

Round 1: 

Nieves closes the distance.  Nieves sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Nieves walks Ciervo onto the ropes.  Ciervo hits home with a cross.  
Nieves pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Nieves finds the target with a jab.  
Nieves lands a left hook.  
Ciervo advances into close range and lands a left hook.

Ciervo tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ciervo manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Ciervo lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Nieves tries to land a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ciervo gets on the inside and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Ciervo sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Ciervo attempts to land a left uppercut, but Nieves parries the shot and counters with a right hook.

Ciervo steps inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Nieves in a corner.  Ciervo wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Nieves dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ciervo closes the distance.  Nieves sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.
