Ben Strachan vs Leighton Bower

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Texas promoted show at Houston Jefferson, Houston,  taking place on 02/06/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-SouthWest Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ben Strachan (10 - 4) who hails from El Paso, USA and Leighton Bower(10 - 1) from Mesa, USA.  Both Strachan and Bower weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Euan Bellis, and the three ringside judges are Elliot Morgans, Corey Barnes and Henry Messer.  

Round 1: 

Bower closes the distance.  Bower sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Bower quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Bower steps inside and hits home with a right hook.  
Bower pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Strachan is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Bower is on target with a cross.  
Bower closes the distance and manouvers Strachan into the corner.  Bower pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Bower sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a left uppercut to Strachan's body.  As Bower tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Strachan dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Bower lands a left hook.  Bower tries to land a left hook, but Strachan dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Bower lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Bower is looking to close the distance.  Bower sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a left uppercut to Strachan's ribs.
