Cristoforo Makris vs Stuart Rowan

Boxing Daily Report from the RJM Boxing promoted show at RJM Gym, Cambridge,  taking place on 01/06/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Cristoforo Makris (1 - 0) who hails from Thessaloniki, Greece and Stuart Rowan(0 - 1) from Dundee, UK.  Both Makris and Rowan weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brett Henrie, and the three ringside judges are Hugh McCabe, John Ahearn and Colin Kendrick.  

Round 1: 

Makris is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with a cross.  
Makris closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

Makris closes the distance.  Rowan attempts to land a left hook, but Makris slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Makris sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Rowan connects with a cross.  
Makris throws a left hook, but is not on target.  Makris holds on to his opponent.  Makris leans on his opponent using all his weight. Rowan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Makris's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Makris switches the action to the outside and connects with a cross.  
Rowan walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Makris connects with a left hook.  
Makris connects with a left hook.  
Rowan advances into close range.  Makris is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Makris hits home with an overhand right.  
Makris attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Rowan time to recover.  
At the end of Round 3, lets listen in on the corners...Rowan's trainer is telling his fighter he needs a knockout to win!  Rowan's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Rowan throws a right uppercut, but Makris holds on to his opponent.  Makris pushes his forearm into Rowan's face.  The ref breaks Makris's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Makris connects with a left hook.  
Makris tries to keep the action at long range and finds the target with a jab.  
Makris tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a cross.  
Rowan is looking to close the distance.  As Makris tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Rowan has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
