Bruce Kimes vs Arthur Mewies

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Stramler Park, Bakersfield,  taking place on 19/06/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Bruce Kimes (3 - 0) who hails from Centennial, USA and Arthur Mewies(4 - 4 - 2) from Norfolk, USA.  Both Kimes and Mewies weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lee Copland, and the three ringside judges are Malcolm Waldie, Mike Sander and Justin Lever.  

Round 1: 

Kimes gets on the inside.  Mewies throws a left hook, but Kimes ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Kimes pushes his forearm into Mewies's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Kimes to stop fouling.  
Kimes digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Kimes pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.
