James Shand vs Mark Belling

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at Maison de la culture, Gaineau,  taking place on 15/06/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are James Shand (6(1) - 0) who hails from Toronto, Canada and Mark Belling(2 - 2 - 1) from Ottawa, Canada.  Both Shand and Belling weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michael Oliver, and the three ringside judges are Paris Clarin, Bruce Hathorne and James Dunlap.  

Round 1: 

Shand lands with a stiff jab.  
Belling walks his opponent into the corner.  Belling pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Belling sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Shand throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Belling is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Shand throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Shand lands a cross.  
Shand is looking to keep his distance and throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Belling walks Shand down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Belling pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a cross.

Belling is looking to close the distance.  Belling sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Shand is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Shand is on target with a jab.  
Shand lands a jab, overhand right and an overhand left to his opponents head.

Shand lands a solid left hook.

Shand switches the action to the outside and lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Shand senses Belling is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Shand lands a left uppercut followed by  two right uppercuts to his opponents head.  Belling now seems to have his senses back.  
Belling steps inside.  Shand is on target with a right uppercut.

Shand is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a solid jab.  
Shand lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Shand tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Shand tries to keep the action at long range.  Shand sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands an overhand left, jab and an overhand right to his opponents head.

Belling gets on the inside.  Shand throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot.  Shand clinches his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Belling closes the distance.  Shand lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Shand lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Shand steps to the outside and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Shand lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head, AND BELLING IS DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Shand!
