Santiago Vivar vs Cuba Villafuerte

Boxing Daily Report from the Wonani Promotions promoted show at Angel Frias Gym, Guayaquil,  taking place on 17/06/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ecuador-Guayas Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Vivar (6 - 13(1) - 1) who hails from Guayaquil, Ecuador and Cuba Villafuerte(7(3) - 0) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Both Vivar and Villafuerte weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Pedro Siman, and the three ringside judges are Felippe Noa, Joaquin Mejia and Santiago Ferro.  

Round 1: 

Vivar is looking to keep his distance.  Villafuerte throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Villafuerte closes the distance.  Villafuerte sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a solid right hook.
