Kong Chak vs Hikaru Koyama

Boxing Daily Report from the Ekstein Promotions promoted show at Sam Gym, Kitakyushu,  taking place on 22/06/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kong Chak (16(11) - 1) who hails from Zhengzhou, China and Hikaru Koyama(2 - 4 - 1) from Sapporo, Japan.  Chak weighed in at 122 pounds, while Koyama weighed in at 121 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Yasushi Baba, and the three ringside judges are Isamu Kawai, Hisao Sone and Ryo Hora.  

Round 1: 

Koyama closes the distance.  Chak lands a left hook.  Chak clinches his opponent.  Chak uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Koyama behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Chak.  
Chak switches the action to the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Chak attempts to land a jab, but Koyama slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Chak lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Chak lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Chak lands a cross followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Chak tries to step out of his opponents range.  Some sustained pressure from Chak could be enough to finish Koyama!  Chak lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head, DROPPING KOYAMA TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 8.  Koyama now seems to have his senses back.  
Chak switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Koyama hits home with a cross.  
Chak lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Chak hits home with a solid jab.  
Chak lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Chak lands a cross.  
Chak lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Koyama quickly recovers. 
Chak lands a cross.  
Chak pivots to the side of his opponent.  Chak throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Chak tries to keep the action at long range and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands an overhand right to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Chak is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands an overhand right, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Koyama's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Koyama's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Koyama gets on the inside and forces Chak to retreat into the corner.  Chak hits home with a solid right uppercut.  Chak ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Chak pushes his forearm into Koyama's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Chak lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Koyama gets on the inside.  Koyama pivots from in front of his opponent.  Chak drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  Chak holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Koyama pushes his forearm into Chak's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Koyama to stop fouling.  
Chak is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Chak lands a jab to the head, a cross to the head and a jab to the body.  
Chak lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Chak connects with a FIERCE cross.  KOYAMA IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  HE IS UNABLE TO GET UP BEFORE THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Chak!
