Neil Yates vs Edward McFee

Boxing Daily Report from the Elliot Britton promoted show at Marriott Hotel, Bristol,  taking place on 12/06/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Neil Yates (5(1) - 0) who hails from Bristol, UK and Edward McFee(2 - 12 - 1) from London, UK.  Both Yates and McFee weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ali Parsa, and the three ringside judges are Noel McGowan, Theo Coslett and Chris McSween.  

Round 1: 

McFee throws a left hook, but Yates clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Yates pushes his forearm into McFee's face.  The referee warns Yates and breaks the clinch.  
Yates lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Yates digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Yates is on target with a jab.  
Yates gets on the inside and lands a left hook.  Yates ties up his opponent.  Yates is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Yates lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Yates lands a right hook to the body followed by two jab's to the head.  
Yates lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Yates ties up his opponent.  McFee pushes his forearm into Yates's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns McFee.  
Yates is on target with a left uppercut to McFee's body.  
Yates digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Yates is on target with a right hook.  
Yates drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  Yates clinches his opponent.  Yates uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits McFee behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Yates to stop fouling.  
Yates walks McFee onto the ropes.  Yates lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Yates steps inside.  Yates sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Yates drives a right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McFee's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  McFee's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  McFee's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  McFee's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Yates manages to force McFee into the blue corner.  Yates lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Yates lands a jab.  
Yates lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Yates pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Yates drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  Yates tries to land a left uppercut, but McFee sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Yates lands a right hook.  
McFee steps inside.  Yates lands a right uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  Yates clinches his opponent.  Yates is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Yates lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.

Yates walks McFee down, trapping him in the corner.  Yates lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Yates wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McFee dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Yates is on target with a left hook to McFee's body.  
Yates hits home with a right hook.  
Yates gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Yates gets on the inside.  You can sense the frustration from McFee now.   He advances forward with head down and it catches Yates in the face!  The ref halts the action and sends Yates to the neutral corner.    He tells McFee to stop fouling or face a points deduction.  
Yates sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to McFee's liver.  
McFee attempts to land a right hook, but Yates slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Yates drives a left uppercut into McFee's body.  
Yates lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Yates lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
McFee gets on the inside.  Yates drives a right hook into his opponents body.
