Akhil Karnik vs Bilal Mady

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Bangalore,  taking place on 06/07/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the India-Karnataka Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Akhil Karnik (5 - 5(1)) who hails from Bangalore, India and Bilal Mady(4 - 1 - 2) from Bangalore, India.  Both Karnik and Mady weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Pradeep Gulati, and the three ringside judges are Akhil Shastri, Sajid Niazi and Pradeep Natt.  

Round 1: 

Mady hits home with a left hook.  
Mady lands a left hook.  
Karnik is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Karnik quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands an overhand left.  
Mady gets on the inside.  Mady sidesteps to the left of his opponent andAs the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Mady has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Mady walks Karnik down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Karnik is on target with a right uppercut.

Mady advances into close range.  Karnik pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mady is on target with a left hook.  As Karnik tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mady dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Karnik lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Karnik is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Karnik feints a jab and triggers a right uppercut counter from Mady.  Karnik is waiting for the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mady closes the distance and throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mady lands a left hook.  
Mady connects with an overhand right.  Mady throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
