Ximen Banegas vs Fumio Koyama

Boxing Daily Report from the Glove Shack promoted show at Amashin Archaic Hall, Amagasaki,  taking place on 29/06/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ximen Banegas (15(6) - 0) who hails from Resistencia, Argentina and Fumio Koyama(11 - 3 - 2) from Kawasaki, Japan.  Both Banegas and Koyama weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Takeo Fukunaga, and the three ringside judges are Jun Oe, Michi Morita and Jiro Mae.  

Round 1: 

Banegas steps inside.  Banegas pivots to the side of his opponent.  Banegas throws a right uppercut, but his opponent avoids the shot.  Banegas holds on to his opponent.  Koyama tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Banegas behind the head. 
Banegas is looking to close the distance.  Koyama pivots to the right of his opponent.  Banegas lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Banegas holds on to his opponent.  Banegas tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Koyama behind the head. The referee warns Banegas and breaks the clinch.  
Banegas gets on the inside.  Banegas sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Koyama tries to land a left uppercut, but Banegas blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Banegas drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Koyama hits home with a left uppercut.  
Banegas closes the distance and lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  Banegas ties up his opponent.  Banegas pushes his forearm into Koyama's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Banegas about fouling.

Banegas feints a left, and then attempts to land a jab, but Koyama dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Banegas steps inside and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Banegas digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Banegas clinches his opponent.  Banegas is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Banegas's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Koyama wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Banegas dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Banegas is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Banegas is on target with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Koyama's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Koyama's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Koyama's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.
