Stephen Briar vs Mark Doyle

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at City West Hotel, Dublin,  taking place on 26/06/2024:

Clearly Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Setanta Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Stephen Briar (6 - 0) who hails from London, UK and Mark Doyle(7 - 5 - 1) from York, UK.  Both Briar and Doyle weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brandon Madigan, and the three ringside judges are Sam McCaig, Paul MacKenna and Steven Stewart.  

Round 1: 

Briar lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Briar hits home with a right hook.  
Doyle throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Briar holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks Briar's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Briar hits home with a left hook.  
Briar connects with a right uppercut.  
Briar sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Briar lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Briar forces Doyle to retreat into a corner.  Briar is on target with a right uppercut to Doyle's body.  
Briar lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.

Doyle is starting to lose his head here!   He advances forward with head down and it catches Briar in the face!  The ref doesnt appear to have noticed the foul and signals for the action to continue.
