Santiago Gomez vs Ian Nkomo

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Viking Pavilion, Portland,  taking place on 28/07/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the WRBO Intercontinental Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Santiago Gomez (12(6) - 1 - 1) who hails from Maipu, Chile and Ian Nkomo(10 - 5) from Harare, Zimbabwe.  Both Gomez and Nkomo weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ethan Mingus, and the three ringside judges are Baltasar Mijares, Stephen Greim and Theo Wight.  

Round 1: 

Gomez is looking to keep his distance.  Gomez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands with a hard jab.
