Boxing Daily Report from the Rooq Promotions promoted show at Rooq Gym, Kuala Lumpur,  taking place on 27/06/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Eddi Apriantono (7 - 0) who hails from Binjai, Indonesia and Danh Trung(0 - 3 - 1) from Haiphong, Vietnam.  Apriantono weighed in at 107 pounds and 15 ounces, while Trung weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Amjad Ebrahimi, and the three ringside judges are Gazi Sinai, Waqar Sabir and Ibrahim Mohammed.  

Round 1: 

Apriantono tries to land a left uppercut, but Trung slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Apriantono lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Apriantono advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the body.  Apriantono clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks Apriantono's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Apriantono quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Trung throws a left hook, but Apriantono clinches his opponent.  Apriantono pushes his forearm into Trung's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Apriantono about fouling.  
Apriantono feints a cross, and then lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Apriantono lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Apriantono steps inside.  Apriantono digs in a left uppercut to Trung's body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Trung dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Apriantono lands a sharp left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Trung has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor damage to the nose.  
Apriantono lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  Apriantono clinches his opponent.  Apriantono uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Trung's kidney. 
Apriantono throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Apriantono ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Apriantono pushes his forearm into Trung's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Apriantono to stop fouling.  
Apriantono pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by two right uppercut's to the body.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Trung's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Trung's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Trung's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Apriantono senses Trung is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Apriantono is on target with a stinging left hook to Trung's ribs.  TRUNG HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Trung now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.
