Mark Higgins vs Patrick Carns

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Belasco Theatre, Los Angeles,  taking place on 08/07/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mark Higgins (5 - 0) who hails from Syracuse, USA and Patrick Carns(5 - 7(1) - 4) from Los Angeles, USA.  Higgins weighed in at 129 pounds and 14 ounces, while Carns weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mike Amores, and the three ringside judges are Cris Garcia, Amon Scroggie and Clint Grullon.  

Round 1: 

Higgins gets on the inside.  Carns throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Higgins lands a right hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Higgins manages to force Carns into a neutral corner.  Higgins lands a left uppercut to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Higgins steps inside.  Higgins sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Higgins steps inside.  Higgins pivots to the side of his opponent.  Carns throws a left hook, but Higgins holds on to his opponent.  Higgins pushes his forearm into Carns's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Higgins.  
Higgins lands with a sharp jab.

Higgins is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.
