Jose Armando vs Angel Mercado

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Cuba-Santiago de Cuba promoted show at Santiago de Cuba Beltran, Santiago de Cuba,  taking place on 16/07/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Cuba Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jose Armando (13(4) - 4(3)) who hails from Santiago de Cuba, Cuba and Angel Mercado(7 - 3 - 2) from Havana, Cuba.  Armando weighed in at 154 pounds, while Mercado weighed in at 153 pounds And 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Gabriel Arvelo, and the three ringside judges are Tajo Alaniz, Vidal Franca and Juan Sahagun.
