Nick Massey vs Mark Carey

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at New York City Gruffudd, New York City,  taking place on 05/08/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-New York State Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Nick Massey (6 - 4 - 2) who hails from New York City, USA and Mark Carey(6 - 7 - 3) from New York City, USA.  Both Massey and Carey weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Davie Sanchez, and the three ringside judges are Chris Cavanaugh, Paul Santistevan and Sam Calderwood.  

Round 1: 

Massey advances into close range.  Carey pivots from in front of his opponent andAs the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Massey dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Carey voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Massey is whaling away with hooks, but Carey keeps his defence tight.
