Paul Gemmel vs John MacBride

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at North Gym, Minneapolis,  taking place on 31/07/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Paul Gemmel (1 - 0) who hails from Olathe, USA and John MacBride(1 - 0) from St. Louis, USA.  Both Gemmel and MacBride weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Zachary Mattus, and the three ringside judges are David Scholar, Brad Dey and David Scholar.  

Round 1: 

Gemmel is looking to close the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Gemmel pivots from in front of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
MacBride manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  MacBride tries to land a left uppercut, but Gemmel sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
MacBride feints a cross, but Gemmel is not fooled and lands with a left uppercut.  
MacBride switches the action to the outside.  Gemmel lands with a solid jab.  
Gemmel lands a left hook.  
Gemmel sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Gemmel lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Gemmel drives a stinging jab into his opponents face.  
Gemmel lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Gemmel sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Gemmel sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Gemmel gets on the inside.  Gemmel backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  MacBride is whaling away with hooks, but Gemmel keeps his defence tight.  
Gemmel advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.

Gemmel gets on the inside.  MacBride pivots to the side of his opponent.  Gemmel lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
MacBride throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Gemmel is looking to close the distance.  MacBride pivots to the left of his opponent.  Gemmel lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Gemmel advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  
Gemmel closes the distance.  MacBride is on target with a left hook.
