Michael Nieves vs William Kendrick

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at North Gym, Minneapolis,  taking place on 31/07/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Michael Nieves (6 - 0) who hails from Long Beach, USA and William Kendrick(6 - 8(1)) from San Jose, USA.  Both Nieves and Kendrick weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Scholar, and the three ringside judges are Zachary Mattus, David Scholar and Brad Dey.  

Round 1: 

Nieves gets on the inside.  Nieves lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Nieves lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Nieves digs in a right uppercut to Kendrick's body.

Kendrick pivots from in front of his opponent.  Kendrick attempts to land a cross, but Nieves dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Nieves gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Nieves holds on to his opponent.  Nieves is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Nieves about fouling.  
Nieves is on target with a sharp cross.  
Kendrick pivots from in front of his opponent.  Nieves connects with a left hook.  
Kendrick switches the action to the outside.  Nieves lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Nieves steps inside.  Kendrick pivots to the right of his opponent.  Nieves lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Nieves ties up his opponent.  Nieves tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Kendrick's kidney. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Nieves hits home with a firm left hook.
