James Ali vs Yakubu Ajanwachukwu

Boxing Daily Report from the Ayeh Promotions promoted show at Zaria Nasser, Zaria,  taking place on 03/08/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Nigeria-Oyo State Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are James Ali (7 - 6 - 1) who hails from Ibadan, Nigeria and Yakubu Ajanwachukwu(2 - 10 - 2) from Ogbomosho, Nigeria.  Both Ali and Ajanwachukwu weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is John Bandele, and the three ringside judges are Yakubu Egbedi, Chigozie Bada and Brett Adegoke.

The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ajanwachukwu dabs at his face checking for damage.  Ajanwachukwu has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Ajanwachukwu sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with an overhand right.  
Ali steps inside.  Ajanwachukwu sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ali attempts to land a left hook, but Ajanwachukwu sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Ajanwachukwu is looking to keep his distance.  Ali quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ajanwachukwu goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Ali's complaints and signals for the action to continue.
