Nori Kinoshita vs Kazuhiko Sama

Boxing Daily Report from the Glove Shack promoted show at Ota-City General Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 29/07/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Japan-Tokyo Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Sky-A Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Nori Kinoshita (12 - 4 - 2) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Kazuhiko Sama(5 - 4 - 1) from Tokyo, Japan.  Both Kinoshita and Sama weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hajime Amari, and the three ringside judges are Kazuhiko Ide, Kazuhiko Nakano and Yasushi Shishido.  

Round 1: 

Sama closes the distance.  Sama quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut.  
Sama pivots to the right of his opponent.  Kinoshita connects with a right hook.

Sama quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a cross.

Kinoshita wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Sama dabs at his face checking for damage.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Sama.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.
