Blake Hume vs Wayne Lockey

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Australia-Victoria promoted show at Melbourne Watkins, Melbourne,  taking place on 14/07/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on WIN, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Blake Hume (1 - 0) who hails from Newcastle, Australia and Wayne Lockey(1 - 3 - 2) from Melbourne, Australia.  Hume weighed in at 175 pounds, while Lockey weighed in at 174 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark Givan, and the three ringside judges are John Kissick, Joey Mahtesyan and Steven Malas.  

Round 1:

Hume is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  Hume holds on to his opponent.  Hume is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Hume and breaks the clinch.  
Hume lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Hume steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Hume ties up his opponent.  Hume leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Hume cuts off the ring, trapping Lockey in the corner.  Hume lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.
