Mick Maddex vs Peter Pherson

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Vodafone Event Centre, Auckland,  taking place on 02/08/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mick Maddex (13 - 5(2)) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Peter Pherson(7 - 0) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Maddex and Pherson weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Antwan Vaughan, and the three ringside judges are Ellis Raharuhi, Chris Kellie and Richie Seay.  

Round 1: 

Maddex is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Pherson feints a jab and triggers a left hook counter from Maddex.  Pherson is waiting for the shot and counters with a right hook.
